The tree outside the window pane
Stands strong and firm, sound and sane
I often wonder if it may dread
Upcoming storms and others dead
Does it ponder an apocalypse
Or cringes at a chain saw's lisp
Will it stand it's ground in wind and rain
Or bend and bow to take the strain
When the earth is dry does it gird its waist
Or will it weep and thirst for waters taste
When buildings fall to time's prevail
Does death its boughs rack and rail
And while I think about this tree
I wonder if it thinks of me.

Untitled
I can not get close enough to you
Looks seem to go right through
Even though nothing is as it seems
I still love you with my dreams
Hope shines through every expression
Lust is destroyed with thoughtful compassion
And it fill this heart with different coloured creams
I still love you in my dreams
An angel camps in a jungle fire's light
the dark grabs her with all it's might
And even though you cant hear my screams
You'll still see me in your dreams.
Aaron's Psalm
Oh Lord, please bless this simple effort to stand on solid ground.
Please use this feeble mind to keep the sanity I've found.
I ask your careful blessing upon this heart of mine.
Keep my brain from cutting our communication line.

Chemistry
It happens when you walk into a room
and a smile lights up our faces.
Turned on by your touch
Even when it's different people in different places.
This amazing catalyst turns perception into emotion.
The solution, an alternative person
A novelty for a notion.
These words you speak send two different identities careening,
With one heart unwilling
The other
feigning.
Noticed by all yet understood by only three.
It takes two to tangle and only one for chemistry.

I dream
I dream dreams of nights African
with whispers from old souls that beckon me
"Arise", they say, "from this lifelong nightmare, this controlled dream that awakes with you, walks with you, speaks to you. Take off that body cast you wear to protect yourself from your destiny. Look into the mirror of the past and lavish in your brown skin. Swim in the ocean of words that crash upon your full lips. Laugh at the broadness of your shoulders that hold the weight of intelligence that rest upon them"
I dream dreams of still waters,
Of eyes that shine like moons on the blackest dark
Arms that hold my strength and nurture my weakness
Soul that touches me and calms my fears while finding happiness
in living Blackness.
